Activation Credit Policy

Activation Credit Policy

You are entitled to activate (1) ONE PC per "license key" purchased at any given time. Your purchase of a license key includes 3 "activation credits". You must deactivate your PC when you wish to transfer the license, or when you modify your PC. It is your responsibility to "deactivate" your license in order to preserve your activation credits. Failure to deactivate a PC at the right time may result in a loss of an activation credit.

We have provided you with multiple activation counts in anticipation of the inevitable hardware or user error. Keep in mind however that if you deplete all 3 of your activation counts, we can not reset your activations and you will be required to purchase a new license key to continue using our software.

We have implemented this policy to eliminate tedious administrative tasks related to licensing and to combat piracy. We feel that this policy is fair and just for both our customers and our company. If you have any questions regarding this policy please create a support ticket or post on our forum. Thank you for your understanding. We sincerely appreciate your business.

The Activation Workflow...

By activating a PC you are downloading the activation credit from our servers and your activation count will read -1. By deactivating your PC, you are uploading your activation credit back to our servers and your activation count will read +1. Certain changes to your PC will throw off the licensing system and cause it to disable your activation credit. That's why it's important to keep in mind the following points.

Deactivate Jukebox Jockey When You...

  • Change any hardware on your machine, including hard drives, CPU, RAM, video card, etc.
  • Upgrade your operating system to a new version of Windows.
  • Format and reinstall your operating system.
  • Perform any Recovery or Restore activities in Windows.

You can Copy Around Jukebox Jockey... after activation...

The Jukebox Jockey licensing system activates a PC, not any particular EXE or Folder. The Jukebox Jockey INSTALLER creates the framework for the licensing system on your PC. So before copying Jukebox Jockey to another PC you must first install JJ from the original installer. This will initialize the licensing system. Then you can copy the entire folder off another PC to the new PC in order to maintain all of your configured settings and database.

How to Deactivate

  1. Open JJ.
  2. Go to Settings>Register>Register
  3. Choose "Online Deactivation".
  4. Jukebox Jockey will upload back the credit and shut down.
